The custom-fitted partial denture created for you by your dentist, Dr. Amirhassan Pouradib, has been designed to restore multiple missing teeth in one part of your mouth. This effectively restores the function and appearance of your missing teeth. By cleaning the partial and the surrounding teeth effectively each day, you ensure that the appliance will have a long life of service and function.

Even though your partial was designed to fit snugly, you might still want to try using denture adhesives to lock your partial in place and block out food particles. If a few stray food particles find their way between the base of your partial and your gums, you will need to rinse your appliance. You can then dry the base of the partial and reapply more denture adhesives to the clean surface.

You should thoroughly rinse your partial when you take it out at night to remove all residual denture adhesive. This will give you a clean, smooth surface to reapply the denture adhesive the next day. Then, you should brush your partial with a soft-bristled toothbrush and denture polish or nonabrasive toothpaste. Next, you should soak your partial overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

Once your partial is safely put away, you should brush and floss your teeth as you would in your regular oral hygiene routine. Make sure to floss around the gumline of the teeth neighboring the partial.
